CIVIC HALL IS HIRING!
We’re looking for a dynamic and creative Director of Marketing and Membership and a charismatic and highly-organized Director of Development to join our growing team. Civic Hall is a non-profit community and collaborative work and event space where government staff, nonprofit leaders, community organizers, philanthropists, civic entrepreneurs, developers, data scientists, journalists and academics come together to solve pressing civic problems with technology.

CIVIC HALL TEAM UPDATES
We’re excited to announce that Savannah Badalich, currently the Program Manager for CivicXcel, will be our new Director of Education, Training, and Events. As Director of Training, Education, and Events, she will lead the development and implementation of digital skills training programs for non-profits and government agencies.

Congratulations to former Entrepreneur-in-Residence and current Civic Hall member Laura Bailyn of Kidfund for being selected to join the 2018 cohort of the Davis Wright Tremaine Women Entrepreneurs Boot Camp!
Congratulations as well to Entrepreneurs-in-Residence Vishal Disawar and Bernard Wang for the recent acquisition of their platform Grove AI by MobilizeAmerica!
MEET THE DRAPERS SEASON 2: APPLICATION OPEN
We’re looking for top-notch for-profit startups to compete on television and at the meantime raise capital via Republic’s crowdfunding platform. The startups will pitch to the Draper family of venture capitalists on television, which will be broadcasted in 150+ countries and of course be available online to watch. It’s a great opportunity for startups to not only gain incredible exposure but also raise capital from the viewers, family, friends, customers and the like. On Season 1, Tim Draperpersonally invested into multiple companies raising on Republic, which gives companies immense credibility in VC circles. We are very excited to announce the first meet and greet for CUNY Tech Prep, a non-profit that provides a year-long professional and technical development for students majoring in computer sciences at one of the 11 CUNY (City University of New York) senior colleges.

MEGACITIES-SHORTDOCS FESTIVAL: “START’UP - TECH FOR GOOD”
MegaCities-ShortDocs Festival is an international association of public interest founded in Paris, in 2014, whose objective is to inspire through short documentary films, citizens, associations, businesses and governments to set in motion new initiatives that contribute to a society more respectful of the environment and offering greater solidarity among citizens.
For the 4th Edition, there is a new section with a dedicated recognition “Start’Up - TECH for GOOD” to give international visibility to start ups that bring solutions with a positive impact, on an environmental and/or social dimensions, in a context of very large cities, such as NYC.
