PARTNER EVENT: CHANGEMAKERS PODCAST NY LAUNCH
The ChangeMakers Podcast tells stories about people trying to change the world so that we can learn more quickly from others people’s successes and failures. You’re invited for a drink and a podcast preview with host Amanda Tattersall during her global launch tour. The New York Launch will be hosted by Purpose and features ChangeMakers’ launch partner, the Mobilisation Lab.

CIVIC HALL EVENT: FREE DIGITAL SKILLS WORKSHOPS FOR NON-PROFITS  
Join us at Civic Hall for a series of free workshops for non-profit executives hosted by Civic Hall and Comcast NBCUniversal. These sessions are intended for non-profit executives who would like to understand more about digital strategy concepts and how they connect to overall organizational strategy.  Session will be focused on providing increased understanding of digital strategy and storytelling, how to use data to inform your strategy and work, and how leading-edge technologies like AR/VR can be used to support your work. 

Register for one session or multiple sessions. All sessions are from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and will be hosted at Civic Hall (118 West 22nd Street, 12th Floor).

• Tuesday, October 24 - Storytelling for Impact - led by James Wu

• Tuesday, November 7 - Becoming a Data-Driven Non-Profit - led by Barbara Cvenic

• Tuesday, November 14 - Exploring New Tools for Engagement (AR/VR/Live Video) - leader to be announced soon

NEW EVENT SERIES: PART OF THE CONVERSATION

Civic Hall would like to announce our newest event theme called “Part Of The Conversation”.

The mission of “Part Of The Conversation” is to change the dynamics of the conversations regarding people of color. We strive to cultivate an environment where people of color are invited to actively participate in the conversation, rather than simply being the topic of discussion.

Please join us for our inaugural event, an informational happy hour, on Thursday, October 26th at 5pm. All are welcome!!

PARTNER EVENT: RESISTANCE MEDIA COLLECTIVE ACA ACTION BLITZ
Join Resistance Media Collective, Action Blitz and the Democratic Coalition at Thoughtworks for a day of media mayhem! On October 28, 2017, creative professionals and coders will gather for 8 hours of strategy and media creation to promote national ACA enrollment. The campaign will aim to fill in the multi-million dollar gaps in the national ACA enrollment marketing outreach that has been created by the Trump administration in their attempt to undermine The Affordable Care Act.

PARTNER EVENT: HUMANITARIAN BLOCKCHAIN SUMMIT
From financing to refugee data protection, gender equality to micro-contracts, blockchain technology has the potential to reshape the future of humanitarian action. The Humanitarian Blockchain Summit hosted by the Institute of International Humanitarian Affairs at Fordham University will foster dynamic discussions between leaders from the humanitarian and technology sectors to address the challenges and generate workable solutions for blockchain in humanitarian response.

This initiative is put on in partnership with the Centre for Innovation at Leiden University, Civic Hall, and the United Nations Office of Information and Technology.

OUR FIRST WOMEN’S UNCONFERENCE  
Civic Hall is excited to present our first Women’s Unconference, in partnership with LMHQ and Civic Women, on the evening of Thursday, November 30th. This event will emphasize the informal exchange of information and ideas between participants about innovations in women’s advocacy and female empowerment.
